A new newspaper in the Netherlands is getting widespread attention for attracting young, well-educated people who were not regular newspaper readers. Half a year after its launch, NRC Next has surpassed its targets and is reaching a new audience for newspapers -- and the new readers are willing to pay for it too.
NRC Next is a morning tabloid that assumes readers have already learned the news from other channels. Rather than concentrating on the traditional "who, what, where and when," it provides background, analysis and opinion.
