Sir Tim Berners-Lee and startup Inrupt are hoping to address the current issues with the open web. They're designing a web, where people have a single sign-on for any service and personal data is stored in “pods” controlled by the user. Inrupt has already signed up Britain’s National Health Service, the BBC and the government of Flanders in Belgium as pilot customers. https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2021/01/world-wide-web-tim-berners-lee-internet-remake/
