The Rise of the Citizen Editor: I, too, believe that as media evolves to more and more utilize content submitted by non-journalists, the need for professional editors will grow. Will that be a net gain in jobs as a result? I suspect that instead, some editors' jobs will change -- so that they are working with both professional staff and freelance journalists, as well as enthusiastic members of the public. It's a trend journalism schools should be on top of.
