Pacheco Pereira: o jornalismo deve ser “em primeiro lugar um relato do que acontece”, lamenta que se tenha perdido “a noção do que é jornalismo” e que os telejornais sejam hoje um “acrescento de espectáculo”. Entende que hoje há uma falta de “mediação histórica nos jornais”, de investigação, e que a pouca especialização também se reflecte no trabalho dos jornalistas. A profissão de jornalista não poderá ficar indiferente às mudanças no próprio consumo dos media, pelo que daqui em diante “o trabalho jornalístico sobre a actualidade deve estar em linha”, uma vez que “já não faz sentido esperar pelo dia seguinte para apresentar as notícias”.
