The fishes "packed" in the uniquely designed fish tank of a hotel's main hall in Beijing may seem like a grand decoration, but the fishes will only survive for six days! New fishes will replace the "old stock", and the cruel cycle repeats.

CULTURAS IN VITRO

New Rules for Newspapers: The Internet has changed everything. If newspapers want to play – and win – then we need to follow the new rules:
1 Get real about the Internet
2 Tie journalists' pay to circulation
3 Ignore your loyal readers
4 Stop running news stories
5 Feed the cash cow
6 Drop the price
7 Solve the online revenue riddle
8 Promote as if success depends upon it
9 Join hands and sing Kumbaya

A globalização no jornalismo (via, negritos meus):
Here is the US news from Bangalore: They are journalists employed by the world's biggest news agency, Reuters.
Their job is to cover US financial news.
And they are working overnight so that they can report company news live as it happens on the New York Stock Exchange - from India.

Depois deste "Tag, You're It: Scientists Describe Collaborative Tagging Sites like Del.icio.us", Tagging: Just as the internet allows users to create and share their own media, it is also enabling them to organize digital material their own way, rather than relying on pre-existing formats of classifying information.
A December 2006 survey has found that 28% of internet users have tagged or categorized content online such as photos, news stories or blog posts. On a typical day online, 7% of internet users say they tag or categorize online content.

(negrito meu)
Czech baby must return from Portugal to mother: Sara Baraova, a six-year-old baby, will return from Portugal to her mother on February 13 and she will be entrusted to her care, according to a court decision in Portugal in a lawsuit between her parents today, Marie Vodickova, director of the Fund of Threatened Children (FOD), has told CTK.
In early January, a different court ruled in the opposite way. The baby was removed from her mother and entrusted to the father who lives in Portugal.
"The mother can see her tomorrow, but then, until February 13, she cannot," Vodickova said.
Sara will have to travel to see her father for holidays three times a year, Vodickova said.
"It is certainly a victory as everyone was afraid that no one will see the baby here any more," she added.
Sara's mother Natalie Baraova had been ordered to send her daughter to her father to Portugal. She ought to have returned her two years ago. However, she kept the baby in hiding.
